Because of my process, and the never-the-same look of my finished pieces, I often get a lot of questions when people see my work in person. If you’ve perused through the gallery or checked out my Instagram and had a few questions crop up yourself, hopefully you can find the answers here! If not, feel free to email me and I’ll do my best to answer your question.

Q: How do you DO that?

A: I’ve finally decided to let you all in on my process in a little more detail. You can read all about it here.

Q: And you can do that with my image?

A: Absolutely, I am starting to take on more and more custom work, and it’s been so fun bringing other people’s stories to life in a new way.

Q: Does it need to be a professionally taken photo to work?

A: No, not at all! I’ve taken iPhone photos from clients and that works wonderfully. It works just as well to take a photo from your friend, family member, or clients’ social media and send it over to me to create a unique, affordable, memorable gift.

Q: What if it’s a really old photo? I don’t want it ruined in the process.

A: I completely understand, and I think it’s awesome you want to preserve those memories with me. Luckily, I’ve found a good way to avoid using the photograph itself in the process, so you can keep the original and still get a new piece of art created from that memory. I’ve had clients take a photo of the photo they want to keep and send the snap they took (an iPhone or digital camera works fine for this as well) - I work from there!

Q: Can I order online?

A: Not yet, though I’m working on getting an online store set up, so keep checking back! You can always email me with a commission request, though, I’m happy to talk to you about what we could make together.

Q: What inspires you?

A: I’m inspired by a lot of little moments, but the values that guide my art are: Movement, Connection, Collaboration, Communication and Resourcefulness. These values guide the projects I take part in, the work I create every day, and the way I run my business and create relationships with my customers.

Q: What does hand transferred mean?

A: It’s important to my process that I do everything by hand. I hand-lay the image on metal coated with the all natural binding agent and then, after the image and the binding agent have married, transferring the image to the metal, I hand wash the piece to clean off the paper from the transfer and ensure the full image transferred.

Q: Does it work with color images?

A: Yes! The process works just the same whether the image is black and white or color. I can even take your color photo and turn it black and white if you want!

Q: So, is it expensive?

A: I try my best to keep my art affordable because I love making the pieces accessible to whoever might connect with my work. Pricing varies based on size, etc, but custom pieces start at $30.

Q: I don’t really want a custom piece, but I’d love to see what you already have. Where can I purchase your work?

A: I’m at a number of retailers in the Atlanta area. Check out the full list here
